ReadSquared Reading Program

Birth to Pre-K Summer 2020

This program is designed for those birth-PreK. Once you've earned enough points you'll receive a completion certificate you can print and share!

You can begin logging books as of 6/20/20 even though our first summer materials pick-up isn't until Saturday, 6/27/20. Our program officially ends 8/14/20 and no more prizes will be awarded. Your last day of summer materials pick-up will be 8/22/20. You will have access to your logs and can log up until 9/7/20 for school purposes. Please print logs by this date.

Here is how our Birth-PreK reading program works:

When registering your child for this program, you will be asked for your child's age. Even if your child has not turned 1 yet, please list the age from 1-5.

For every day you read during the week (Monday-Friday) and log, you will be rewarded a star sticker for your sticker board (provided in your first summer material pick-up bag). These stickers will be packed using logging statistics from the previous week when pre-packaged each week in your Saturday, Summer Materials Pick-Up Package. (You must fill out the Google Form on westonpubliclibrary.org in order to get these).

When you read all 5 days of the week, you will also get a Special Sticker.
Cash in star stickers for 1 chance at the GRAND PRIZE RAFFLE for your age group and cash in special stickers for 2 chances.

The goal is to read for the entire 40 days (8 weeks-5 days a week) of the program. If you complete the challenge you will get to print a certificate of your achievement and automatically get an extra entry to win our GRAND PRIZE RAFFLE for your age group.

Please note, you may only be able to pick up Stickers on Summer Material Pick-Up Days which will normally be Saturdays (all pre-packaged by child name), unless otherwise arranged with Miss Alessandra through e-mail apetrino@westonct.gov or unless stated as a different day if we are closed for Holiday weekends.

You will be able to cash in your stickers only when the library reopens to the public at the end of summer. This date will be announced later.

Important: Please remember to ignore the notifications of prizes from ReadSquared. There is no way for us to select the Monday-Friday awarding option and therefore you will be told if you enter reading on Saturday and Sunday that you have acquired a prize. This is not correct. Grades K-5 Summer 2020

This program is designed for those in Grades K-5. Once you've earned enough points you'll receive a completion certificate you can print and share!

Here is how our Grades K-5 reading program works:

When registering your child for this program, you will be asked for your child's grade. Please enter the grade they will be ENTERING IN THE FALL.

For every day you read during the week (Monday-Friday) and log, you will be rewarded a regular bead for your Brag Tag Chain (provided at first Summer Materials Pick-Up). These beads will be packed using logging statistics from the previous week when pre-packaged each week in your Saturday, Summer Materials Pick-Up Package. (You must fill out the Google Form on westonpubliclibrary.org in order to get these).

When you read all 5 days of the week, you will also get 1 Special Bead for your Brag Tag Chain.
Cash in regular beads for 1 chance at the GRAND PRIZE RAFFLE for your age group and special beads for 2 chances.

The goal is to read for the entire 40 days (8 weeks-5 days a week) of the program. If you complete the challenge you will get to print a certificate of your achievement and automatically get an extra entry to win our GRAND PRIZE RAFFLE for your age group.

Grades 6-12 Summer 2020

This program is designed for those in Grades 6-12. Once you've earned enough points you'll receive a completion certificate you can print and share!

When registering for this program, you will be asked for your grade. Please enter the grade you will be ENTERING IN THE FALL.

For every day you read during the week (Monday-Friday) and log, you will be rewarded a scratch off ticket revealing either 0, 1, or 2 chances at the Grand Prize Raffle. These scratch off tickets will be packed using logging statistics from the previous week when pre-packaged each week in your Saturday, Summer Materials Pick-Up Package. (You must fill out the Google Form on westonpubliclibrary.org in order to get these).

When you read all 5 days of the week, you will also get 5 Extra Chances at our Grand Prize Raffle.

Cash in scratch off tickets for chances to win the GRAND PRIZE RAFFLE for your age group.

The goal is to read for the entire 40 days (8 weeks-5 days a week) of the program. If you complete the challenge you will get to print a certificate of your achievement and automatically get an extra entry to win our GRAND PRIZE RAFFLE for your age group.

Please note, you may only be able to pick up Scratch Offs on Summer Material Pick-Up Days which will normally be Saturdays (all pre-packaged by teen name), unless otherwise arranged with Miss Alessandra through e-mail apetrino@westonct.gov or unless stated as a different day if we are closed for Holiday weekends.

You will be able to cash in your raffle chances only when the library reopens to the public at the end of summer. This date will be announced later.
